Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 6 AM–10 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach OLIYO at (646) 998-3255; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, oliyo38nyc.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 606 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese buffet in New York and suggests consistent service.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Food-wise, we were actually very impressed. Good variety, good food and great service. Unfortunately, the entire experience was completely ruined by what we found in the restroom. I took my 6-year-old daughter to use the facilities and wash her hands, only to find a used condom lying on the toilet floor. Yes, you read that correctly β€” a USED CONDOM. I immediately called a member of staff over to deal with it. Their response? β€œOh st.”** Quite literally the same reaction I had. How this can be missed during basic cleaning checks is beyond me. This isn't a minor issue or something you can simply overlook. It's a serious hygiene concern, especially when children are using the facilities. Needless to say, I wasn't going to let my daughter anywhere near that restroom, so we left and found another one. It's a real shame because the food and service were genuinely good. But you can serve the best food in the world β€” if your hygiene standards are this poor, it completely undermines the whole experience. Food: good. Service: good. Hygiene: completely unacceptable.

First time here ( from CA visiting) at this location and we loved it. Friendly, helpful and bilingual staff. The prices were reasonable and a big plus was their indoor seating area.

It's the perfect place to enjoy a great meal. The staff are some of the nicest people I've met in New York, always welcoming and friendly. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. One of the best food experiences I made in the USA while travelling. Quality and rice/value ratio absolutely good. Absolute recommendation especially for the live cooked wrap with chicken. See picture

This is an absolutely amazing find. It's not white linen tables and waiter service, but being from the UK, it met our needs fur breakfast. Plenty of choice from hot and cold buffet. The food was tasty and plentiful. The seating area upstairs was perfectly acceptable, but no lift, so maybe no good if you can't manage stairs. I really liked it. Staff were friendly, and it was much more reasonably priced than a sit down diner, and no tipping!
